HAIRSTYLIST
Welcome!
some special updates while I'm away
a little note from me,
To my beautiful clients,
Oh, how life has changed in the sweetest way.
If you've been following along these past few months, you know things have looked a little different around here. Between an unexpectedly early start to maternity leave, preparing our hearts and home for another little girl, and learning to embrace plans that don't always go according to plan, it's been quite the season.
But through all the unexpected moments, there's been so much to be grateful for.
Our newest little love has officially made her arrival, and we're soaking up these first precious days as a family of four. My heart is incredibly full, and I couldn't wait to share a little piece of this new chapter with all of you.
Before we get into all the baby sweetness, I also want to say thank you. Your kindness, patience, flexibility, and support throughout these last several weeks have meant more than you know.
Now lets get to the real reason we are all here...
She's finally here!
Our sweet Kora Lane made her arrival on October 13th, and our little family of three officially became a family of four. It's hard to put into words just how much love one little person can bring into a home, but somehow, our hearts have found room to grow in ways we never could have imagined.
The past couple of years have been nothing short of life-changing in the most beautiful ways. It feels like just yesterday we were bringing Ayla home, learning how to be parents, and experiencing all those magical firsts together. Now, we're watching that same little baby step into her newest role as a big sister, and it's been one of the sweetest things to witness.
Ayla has already been such a wonderful big sister. Watching her curiosity, excitement, and love for her baby sister has made this experience even more special. There is something incredibly emotional about watching your first baby love your second, knowing that these two little girls have a lifetime of memories, adventures, laughter, and probably a little mischief ahead of them.
Our days look a little different now. There are more tiny clothes in the laundry, more snuggles to go around, a little less sleep, and a whole lot more love filling every corner of our home. We're learning what life looks like as a family of four, finding our new rhythm, and trying to soak in every fleeting moment of this season.
Becoming a mom has changed me in ways I never expected, and getting to experience motherhood all over again while watching Ayla grow has given me an entirely new appreciation for just how beautiful and bittersweet these little years are.
Life is a little louder, a little busier, and a whole lot sweeter. And I wouldn't trade a single second of it.
Here's to our newest little love, the sweetest big sister, and this beautiful new chapter as a family of four.
The Meaning Behind Her Name
Kora Lane
Kora | Greek origin, meaning "maiden" or "young girl."
Kora is a variation of Kore, another name for Persephone in Greek mythology. Persephone is known as both the goddess of spring and Queen of the Underworld, representing the changing seasons, renewal, and the beautiful balance between light and darkness.
We fell in love with the name for its soft, feminine sound and its slightly mysterious, whimsical roots. And with our little girl making her arrival during our favorite spooky season, it felt even more fitting. A little bit sweet, a little bit spooky, and completely her.
Lane | A little piece of our love story.
Her middle name was inspired by Lane 8, one of our favorite musical artists and someone we saw together on one of our very first dates. What started as a shared love for music became a little piece of our own love story, and now it's something we get to carry into this next chapter through our daughter. It's a sweet reminder of where Austin and I began, long before we knew our story would lead us here, with two beautiful little girls and a family of our own.
a little update
from the studio
While I've been soaking up this beautiful new chapter at home, life at Metamorphosis has continued with the help of the wonderful Beth!
Having to step away from behind the chair earlier than anticipated wasn't exactly how I pictured the end of my pregnancy, but I'm incredibly grateful that we were able to make arrangements for my clients to continue feeling beautiful and cared for while I'm away.
Beth has been such a lovely addition to the studio, and hearing how happy everyone has been with both their hair and their experience has brought me so much peace of mind. It means the world knowing that the space I've poured so much love into is continuing to welcome familiar faces, even while I'm home enjoying these precious first weeks with my girls.
To everyone who has been flexible with appointments, trusted Beth with their hair, or simply sent a sweet message of encouragement, thank you. Your support has made this transition so much easier, and I truly couldn't be more grateful.
Booking Your Next Visit
As much as I'm looking forward to soaking up every moment of newborn life, I'm also so excited to get back behind the chair and see all of your beautiful faces again!
Here's what my upcoming schedule will look like:
Now – November 21 | Appointments with Beth
Beth will continue welcoming clients into Metamorphosis through November 21. If you're hoping to freshen up your color, schedule a haircut, or get your hair holiday-ready, she's here to take wonderful care of you!
December 14–23 | My Soft Return
I'll be making my way back into the studio the week of December 14–18 with very limited appointment availability before Christmas. This will be a slower, more intentional return as I find my balance between being behind the chair and being home with my girls.
If you're hoping to get in before the holidays, I highly encourage booking ahead, as these appointments will be limited!
January 2027 | Back to My Regular Schedule
Beginning the first week of January, I'll officially return to my regular schedule! I'm looking forward to settling back into my routine, catching up with all of you, and getting back to doing what I love.
Thank you for giving me the space to enjoy this season with my family. I'm looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

a few gentle reminders
Just because I'm away from the studio doesn't mean your hair has to miss out on a little extra love!
A few gentle reminders to keep your hair looking and feeling its best between appointments:
-
Stay consistent with your home-care routine. Those little daily habits make all the difference in maintaining healthy, beautiful hair.
-
Don't forget your heat protectant! Your hair deserves a little protection before reaching for those hot tools.
-
Give your hair some extra nourishment. A weekly conditioning treatment, a little oil on your ends, and a gentle nighttime routine can go a long way.
And remember, taking a little time for yourself is never something to feel guilty about. Whether it's a quiet morning coffee, a long shower, or a few extra minutes of self-care, you deserve those moments, too.
If you're running low on your favorite products or looking for something new, I've put together some of my favorite hair-care recommendations to make shopping a little easier.
Let's Stay Connected
Although I'll be spending most of my days soaking up newborn snuggles, chasing after a toddler, and finding our new rhythm as a family of four, I'd still love to stay connected with all of you!
Follow Along on Instagram
I'll be sharing little glimpses of life with our girls, updates from behind the chair, and all things hair over on Instagram. Come say hello! @KateLoveHairstylist
Send a Little Note
You can always reach out to say hello! I genuinely love hearing from you, whether it's a sweet message about the girls or a little life update of your own. Just know that responses may be a bit slower while I'm enjoying this time with my family.
Leave a Little Love
If you've enjoyed your experience at Metamorphosis, leaving a Google or Yelp review is one of the sweetest ways to support my small business while I'm away. Your kind words help other wonderful people discover my little studio, and I appreciate every single one. ♡
With love and gratitude,
